Greetings,

On January 15, 2020 Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® celebrates 112 years of service to all mankind. This is indeed a significant accomplishment! We commemorate 112 years of developing leaders, promoting academic excellence, and supporting our Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). We take great pride in our commitment to helping our youth develop to their fullest potential. We value our elderly citizens and our communities at large as we dedicate our time, talents, and resources toward our many programs that are rooted in our motto of “service to all mankind”. I think it is safe to say that the moving spirit of this historic organization, Ethel Hedgeman Lyle, would be proud of the impact her beloved sorority has made in the world today.

We would like you to get to know our extraordinary organization as you tour our website. The Iota Pi Omega chapter covers Brevard County and is part of the Significant South Atlantic Region. We are hard at work and excited to join over 1,024 chapters who are committed to the mission of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® and faithfully support each of program targets and our sorority’s international initiatives.

As we embrace the International Program theme “Exemplifying Excellence Through Sustainable Service SM” of our newly elected 30th International President Glenda Glover, PH.D., JD, CPA, (2018-2022), we will continue to remain focused and engaged in our community. As members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, we will continue to answer the call to action and service, addressing critical issues that impact the quality of life in the communities we serve. We will answer the call to address community needs through our Signature Program, #CAP SM (College Admissions Process) and five target areas: HBCU for Life: A Call to Action, Women’s Healthcare and Wellness, Building your Economic Legacy, The Arts! and Global Impact.

Iota Pi Omega has launched the motto, “Pearls that S.O.A.R.” Pearls soaring to new and uncharted heights with unlimited potential:

S - Seeking to serve all mankind through selflessness

O - Optimizing our originality through outreach, works and deeds

A - Affirming the approved initiatives through accomplishments and time-honored dedication

R - Reinforcing the resolve of our founding sisters through retention, love, work and service

I invite you to follow us through this website, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. We consistently update our website and social media platforms to inform and educate the community about our exceptional and dynamic chapter and community service and events in Brevard County. We will continue to adhere to the vision of our twenty founders, strive to live by our guiding principles and promote our mission of “service to all mankind”.

Serving in the Spirit of Excellence,

Jorosylan J. Williams
